Windows 10 Transformation Pack Review:
The developer version is yet to be released, but the testing packs dubbed as "Transformation Pack" that does not actually install the operating system, but gives you a look and feel of the revamped user interface, dialog boxes, windows, tabs, toolbars, menu and arrangement of various other items. It is just like skin on top of your already running Windows 7 or 8. It will help you to decide whether the new layouts designed by their designers are appealing and what other improvements are desirable before it's complete version is released.
Windows 10 Transformation pack is just like a new theme for your smartphone which changes the wallpapers, buttons, cursors, icons, fonts, boot loader and sounds. This, instead does all sorts of changes on your PC. Apart from all the basic stuff you get a choice of three themes to choose, that is, Metro, Glass or Modern. There is also a completely new Windows 10 Startup Menu.
This transformation pack is applicable to all the versions of Windows starting from XP and after. It will make major system changes in order to bring the look and feel as closely matched to the actual Windows 10 release. This is for older versions, whereas the newer versions can make use of more simpler UX Themes of getting a taste of Windows 10.
- The process starts with taking a system-backup or a restore point. Then the zip file is downloaded in real-time, it is unzipped and you have to double-click on the finally unzipped setup file to start the process. The final outcome might vary from version to version and you might not get the full experience.
The latest release is version 4.5 and Microsoft has released a complete list of technical previews that this pack has to offer.
- It has covered logon screen wallpaper and background exactly like the Windows 10. It has also fixed a bug that caused errors in the Windows 8 activation after applying this transformation pack.
- The "Modern" theme colorization has been updated to work perfectly with the older versions like Windows Vista and even the new ones like 8 and 8.1.
- There is a significant update to Resource Hacker to version 2.0. There is also an update to the system icons from its latest build Windows 10147.
This pack is available as a freeware and weighs around 92MB. It supports both 32 and 64 bit architectures.
